Weather: That heat advisory is no joke. Hit up the community pool, stay “hydrated,” and lather on that SPF because it’s about to get hot as sh*t up in here. And yes, margaritas count for hydration purposes.

Awesome events you can attend this weekend: Make partying great again with RCPT, SASOP, and Capitol Grapevine today at Cantina Marina – starting at 4pm because, recess; Hit up some amazing rooftops for a tasty beverage; Grab a brewski for five at the Virginia Craft Beer Festival; Get your FREE D.C. Scoop ice cream at Dock 5, Union Market on Saturday; Winds Brewing Company is having a delicious crab boil that you definitely should not miss.

Summer is a time to really enjoy the outdoors before you start complaining about the humidity and we don’t want hanger to add to this seasonal struggle that is REAL.

In an effort to avoid heat hanger (we have yet to find it on WebMD), we met with DCity Smokehouse Pit Master,Shawn McWhirter, who gave us the skinny on some lean (and damn good) brisket. Naturally, we asked him what the secret ingredient to the brisket is and if we would be allowed back after the interview.

We’re still waiting to hear back on one of those.
