Meet Intern John. John became infamous in the DC area the moment he joined HOT 99.5’s popular morning show, The Kane Show. From his “Loser Line” segments to his “Pitch Perfect” and “Saved by the Bell” references, John has DC’s commuters laughing in their cars as they tackle traffic. FamousDC had the chance to chat with John about his career move to DC and life in radio. Unfortunately, his adorable dog, Chuy, could not make it to the interview.

TO: Mr. Conan O’Brien FROM: DC Residents Whom Are Proud of Their Landmark Establishments Dear Mr. O’Brien, On behalf of all District dwellers, we hope you enjoyed your time here in our Nation’s Capital. We truly love our city and we hope you were able to drink it all in while you were here – it always goes down smooth. We also want to congratulate you on your almost perfect performance at the annual White House Correspondence Dinner. You were very funny. That is, until you started to make fun of the Hilton Hotel, the service, and the quality of the hotel thereby insulting a notable DC landmark as the staff and other employees stood in the back and listened. Not cool bro, we need to have a chat about that.

After they weren’t given a table at this year’s White House Correspondent’s Association Dinner, Buzzfeed decided to host their own viewing party and broadcast the WHCD live. If we do say so ourselves, the night was a definite WIN.

From the ground up, The Graham Georgetown is a sleek new addition to this metro-less neighborhood. Formerly the Jefferson, the boutique hotel has a modern feel that still nods to the space’s rich history.

Hopefully this will be the last coldish weekend and we can enjoy the end of April without the rain. With that in mind, we’ve laid out an excellent weekend for you to get the most out of our amazing city.

Jack and Lucy asked us to tell Lindsey Drew happy birthday today!

We finally did it. After resisting to pressure to photograph our food and filter our lives, we finally gave in and signed up for Instagram. Better late than never. Follow us to see where FamousDC is around the city and send your pics of FamousDC in – we might even …

Howard Dean still has time to meet with college students carrying around a resume. Gotta love this city.

Meet Lauree Ostrofsky. Lauree is a local life coach, blogger and new author. Her new memoir, “I’m scared & doing it anyway,” was published this month and explores her experience with battling a brain tumor. Lauree can be seen around DC speaking at events and sharing hugs with loved ones and new friends. FamousDC had the chance to catch Lauree during the excitement of her book release.

New job. New Twitter handle. Just want to announce a change in my Twitter handle and my new role working in sales & marketing with Boylan Soda! boylanbottling.com — Chris Taylor (@SodaPopTaylor) April 22, 2013 Be sure to congratulate Chris on the new gig if you have a moment today.

It’s time for a slow, easy-going weekend. That said, DC is never really slow so we’ve pulled out some great events that cause low stress levels. See you there.

After years of floating around in unshaven solitude, Mr. Vieson is finally getting his day in the sun.  Hill Climbers: Cantor’s Floor Director Keeps a Low-Key Profile Believe it or not, the guy who painstakingly helps negotiate the House’s daily agenda is hardly the hobnobbing busybody one might expect. “I wouldn’t consider myself an outgoing people-person,” Chris Vieson, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s new floor operations director, said in a recent interview. “I never planned on being here or doing this, but I guess once I got here I was hooked.”

Meet Erin McPike. After what we can only call a superwoman performance covering the 2012 election, Erin McPike got scooped up by CNN to join Jake Tapper’s newest venture, The Lead. Having been a fan of McPike since day one, FamousDC was excited to see her make the jump from Real Clear Politics. Luckily, between assignments McPike had a minute to sit down with us and answer a few questions on her new gig, working with Tapper and roller blading with MO.

We can get through this crisis together on Twitter and Facebook. And then one time a reporter walked straight into a private fundraiser. Once again, you can’t trust interns with the guest list. Though the event was private, Hotline On Call was admitted without being asked for identification. In her remarks, Colbert Busch focused largely on bringing jobs to the district and using …

FamousDC headed out to Taste of the South this past Saturday and we have to give it up to the organizers this year. Going strong for 31 years, Taste of the South didn’t fail to disappoint with another great spread of food, drinks and all the dancing you could want.

Yes, you read that title right. We chose it because who doesn’t love all three? Even more so, who doesn’t love a weekend packed with all three? We’ve got a great, diverse lineup ready for you so get ready, set, weekend!

Congrats to Lia Seremetis on her new gig at The Raben Group. After a stint at NAMIC Lia is making the jump over to the agency side where we’re sure she’ll do good things. But don’t worry, she’ll still be running DC Bike Party and writing for us like a boss. P.S. …

Happy birthday to Robin’s husband and Natalie’s father: Josh Shultz! If you have a moment today, wish FamousDC co-founder Josh Shultz a Happy Birthday! –The FDC Team

As told by Howard Mortman Oh, the fettucine alfredo. Oh, the Rigatoni in a slightly spicy tomato sauce. Oh, the Ninth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which you can’t eat so we won’t bold. It was a rare joint outing for Mr. and Mrs. Extreme as we celebrated the marriage of Craig Crawford and David Blank, a history-making event that broke down all the traditional walls of American weddings by doing what was once unthinkable but now seems to nothing short of the “in” thing: That’s right, they served garlic. Years ago and even last week, this might have been met with conventional civilization’s shudder and shrieks and a few egads; but now, isn’t everyone everywhere rushing to announce press release-backed support for serving of garlic at a wedding reception?
