Weather: Veterans Day weekend is going to bring out the best of America, and here in our nation’s capital, that includes lots of sunshine. Clear skies on Saturday and Sunday with afternoon temperatures hovering between the mid 50’s and low 60’s ought to pair nicely with a beverage and some barbeque. Once the sun drops, so shall the temperatures – possibly even as low as freezing. So bundle up, DC! And have a great Veterans Day weekend.

Awesome events you can attend this weekend: Take a load off with The Last Waltz Tribute at the Hamilton on Saturday night; Honor our veterans and celebrate America with the U.S. Army Chorus at the Kennedy Center tonightTake a special tour of Arlington National Cemetery on Saturday morning and learn more about the Tomb of the Unknown Solider; And on Saturday afternoon, join a tour of the WWII, Vietnam and Korean War memorials in remembrance of our fallen service members; The Women in Military Service for America Memorial hosts a special Veterans Day observance event on Saturday afternoon; If you’re in Arlington, join others at the Air Force Memorial for a wreath laying ceremony on Saturday morning; Bundle up and grab a big beer at any of DC’s amazing beer gardens: Garden District, Dacha, The Brig and Biergarten Haus just to name a few; The National Gallery of Art’s recently renovated and reopened East Building boasts a world famous collection worth seeing for yourself; Then stroll across the Mall to the Hirshhorn Museum for an eye opening peek at incredible modern works; And kudos to Washington’s WTOP for compiling this list of freebies available to active and former service members this weekend.

2016: it’s been one heck of an election year, and there’s no doubting that folks from both sides of the aisle gave it their all to support the causes they care about. Whether from the Democratic, Independent, Republican, Green or Purple party, or the media outlets who followed them around nonstop…there’s at least one thing we can all agree on – we all just like to party in general – and that’s reason enough to celebrate. So thank you to everyone that worked tirelessly to make the 2016 Election happen!

The don’t call it the “Beltway Bubble” for nothin’. Between the hustle and bustle of big city life and the inescapable coverage of Election 2016, a lot of us Washingtonians have forgotten about awesome, nonpolitical events of late. Let’s review.
