Since we’re in the middle of a Congressional recess (and because a ton of new folks are stopping by FamousDC today), we thought it’d be a good time to showcase a couple of our favorite recess posts.

A Day in the Life of a Congressional Staffer … during Recess (from July 8, 2010)
10:02 a.m. – Attempt to recount the drinks you had last night. Give up at 9…but think about how awesome it would be if Katherine Harris could make a ruling.
11:08 – 11:45 a.m. – Scan emails, shuffle papers on desk, nap, line-up lunch plans, check FamousDC, write snazzy Facebook recess status update
3:50 p.m. – Tell co-workers you’re headed to an afternoon “workshop.”

A Day in the Life of a K Streeter … During Recess (from July 9, 2010)
10:00 a.m. – Wake up
11:00 a.m. – text boss from home asking where today’s lunch meeting will be held.
11:05 a.m. – send him list of places that serve mimosas and have brunch on a tuesday that he requested.
11:25 a.m. – receive text from boss saying that you’ll be fired if you ever suggest he eat in Virginia again
12:00 p.m. – Smith and Wollensky’s for burger and a Pinot Nior.
12:30 p.m. – decide that wine by the glass is a rip off – order bottle.
