Congratulations to House Committee on Science, Space and Technology communications director Kristina Baum on her new job as the chief spokesperson for Chevron Phillips Chemical. While Baum will be stationed in Texas, she will continue to work on government relations issues; Mastercard welcomes Sam Batkins, most recently director of regulatory policy at American Action Forum, to its DC team as director of strategy and research. Batkins follows former staff director for the House Homeland Security Committee’s cybersecurity and infrastructure protection subcommittee, Brett DeWitt, who also recently joined Mastercard as a director on its growing public policy team; Ben Khouri has been promoted from legislative correspondent to deputy press secretary for Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC); Former digital director for the Department of Treasury and digital producer for msnbc.com Clare Kim has joined JPMorgan Chase as executive director for marketing and communications; ABC News recently announced Roxanna Sherwood is joining “Good Morning America” as executive producer. She first joined ABC News as a desk assistant 21 years ago and most recently helped distinguish Nightline as an award-winning program; Terry Hurlbutt is also joining the GMA team as general manager of digital; Tom Lopach, who was executive director of the DSCC during the 2016 election cycle, is making a move to Montana to serve as chief of staff to Gov. Steve Bullock; Deputy political director at Angerholzer Broz Consulting Ashley Helsing is joining the National Down Syndrome Society as director of government relations; R Street Institute adds William Murray as federal energy policy manager. Murray most recently was an editor at RealClearPolitics, focused on its energy page; After four years on the Jake Tapper’s The Lead team, Melanie Buck has been named executive producer of State of the Union. Current executive producer, Katie Hinman, has been named executive producer of special programming for CNN; Deputy press secretary to Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) Ricki Eshman has been promoted to press secretary; Mike Memoli is joining NBC News from the L.A. Times as a national political reporter; Bush alum and former UBS public policy team member Peter Rowan is joining Mars as senior director of federal government affairs; After almost five years with the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association, Kristin Murphy has joined the Association for Accessible Medicines as director of federal affairs. AAM also promoted Michael Brzica from senior director to vice president of federal affairs; Jessica Fredericks has joined the White House Historical Association as director of communications. Prior to this, she most recently served as public relations and publications manager for the Washington Ballet; House Ways & Means Trade Subcommittee legislative assistant Lila Nieves-Lee has joined USTR as director of congressional affairs; And lastly, a big congratulations to Erick Sanchez on his new role as director of community affairs at the Drink Company;
