What do you wear when you’re invited to a fashion event with a real live fashion designer?

On Monday night, Politico, Google and the Tory Burch Foundation hosted a special Women Rule event at the Tory Burch boutique in Georgetown.  The event was an opportunity for politicos, journalists, entrepreneurs, policy makers and the fashionably famous in DC to catch up while shopping with purpose. A portion of the proceeds from the event were contributed to the Tory Burch Foundation which focuses on empowering women by providing the resources and tools needed in the playing field for women entrepreneurs.
The women who attended this event weren’t phased one bit that they were meeting a real life fashion icon and proved me right, once again, that DC does have style! This is what you wear after a long work day that concludes with meeting Tory Burch.

This lady in red knows how to wear a power color.  I love Alexis Williams‘ simple sheath dress, accessorized with delicate gold jewelry and a classic camel pump.

You’ve seen Rebecca Haller here before, so it is no surprise that her colleagues Meredith Casey McPhillips and Molly Fluet are now too.  Rebecca, in the spirit of Tory Burch, pulls off a boheme vibe, while Meredith and Molly could easily be characters on the show Scandal based on their clothing choices.

Rebecca Cooper’s style is one of my favorite looks of the evening. She let her Etro-esque print dress be her statement sans accessories and because of this she owns the dress!  Btw, she also wins the best hair day award.

I am sorry you can’t see Missy Edwards‘ entire outfit because it was on-point, but the shoes she is wearing in this photo were the most coveted item of the night.  I think Missy picked the gold pair (right foot), while a couple other ladies, myself included, walked out owning the blue pair (left foot).

Sally’s striped jacket had me way before hello.  This duo had their style nailed, looking the chicest and professional at the same time.
