A 245-room micro-hotel is being planned in Chinatown at 6th and H Streets, Washington Business Journal reports. … the city’s developers have been much slower to jump on micro-hotels (also called pod or capsule hotels). The basic idea is that most travelers don’t spend that much time in their hotel rooms, so cutting down on the space (and sometimes amenities) is worth it to drive down the rates for many guests. Especially the transit-loving youths.
