Meet Taylor Llewellyn .

When all of his friends were getting "grown-up jobs," Taylor decided to start his own clothing line. No, seriously. His line, Tucker Blair, [based in DC] is a collection of fine needlepoint products that include belts, flip flops, dog collars, headbands, key fobs, and polo tees.

We are delighted that our friend Taylor and the Tucker Blair team spent a few minutes to answer our Famous 5 Questions  about their needlepoint kingdom and talk a little trash to the Vineyard Vines guys.

Famous 5: Taylor Llewellyn

1) When you started Tucker Blair did your family and friends think you were out of your mind?

Maybe they thought I was out of my mind, but they definitely didn’t show it!  Everyone has been extremely supportive the whole way through.  It always means a lot when a friend or family member buys a Tucker Blair product.

2) We’ve seen your products for sale as far as Charleston. Where is the most interesting place you’ve recognized someone wearing your goods?

A friend of mine saw someone wearing a Tucker Blair Crab and Beer Bottle belt at the Great Wall of China, which was a great story to hear.  We’ve shipped product to about 20 countries.  Gossip Girl is still the coolest product sighting

3) A Tucker Blair headband was featured on Gossip Girl earlier this year, how did you explain to all of your friends that you watch Gossip Girl?

Hahahaha.  I actually had a good friend say to me about Gossip Girl, “this is either a high point, or a low point for you Taylor, and I really don’t know which it is”.   I will admit I’ve watched the odd episode of Gossip Girl.  My friends gave me an earful after hearing about it, but after the joking they all thought it was pretty cool.

4) President Obama calls and says he’s looking to ditch the "mom jeans" and wants a new look.  What kind of outfit would you set him up with?

I think we’d have to set him up with a TB polo and some flops.  I could see him kicking back at Camp David with some lobster flops.

5) We’ve seen pictures of the Vineyard Vines guys hanging out at exotic locales all over the world. Could you take either of them in an arm-wrestling battle?

Absolutely
