The top aides to House Speaker John Boehner and Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi participated in a national moment of silence earlier this morning.

President Obama ordered the national observance in tribute to Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., and the victims of the shooting rampage in Tucson that left six people dead.
