On Wednesday night the Global Down Syndrome Foundation held its Acceptability Gala in Washington, DC. Hundreds gathered to honor Senator Roy Blunt and Congresswoman Cheri Bustos for their advocacy on behalf of people with Down syndrome. Pop artist Andy Grammer entertained at the event that raised nearly $350K to support medical research to improve the health and well-being of people with Down syndrome.

Others in attendance were dancers from the DC area, Rep. ColeRep. DeLauro, Global Ambassador CC Mullen’s parents Erin and Ed Mullen of Arlington, Va.

The Global Down Syndrome Foundation is the lead advocacy non-profit working with self-advocates, congressional champions and the National Institutes of Health to advance Down syndrome research that will lead to elongation of life and improved quality of life.
