Tim Hwang is an entrepreneur (and not just because he was featured in Entrepreneur Magazine). As the Founder and CEO of FiscalNote, along with its recent purchase of CQ Roll Call, Tim Hwang is determined to change the landscape of business and government around the world. The work his company started doing in DC is just the beginning of a global impact.

Tell us about FiscalNote in 280 characters or less.

FiscalNote’s mission is to connect the world to their governments. It is the leading technology innovator at the intersection of global business and government, combining award-winning journalism and content. (212 characters – we’ll let it slide.)

If you could describe FiscalNote’s acquisition of CQ Roll Call in terms of a food pairing, what would it be?

I would say we are like wine and chocolate. CQ Roll Call would be the wine, a reliable and sophisticated brand that is a DC legacy, which gets better with age. FiscalNote would be the chocolate, offering a range of flavors and sweetness to complement the wine, bringing out the best of both worlds.

What do you eat for breakfast?

I don’t usually eat breakfast in the morning. But when I do, I would order something simple like eggs with a side of fruit.

Are you the type to clear your inbox of unread emails or do you let the emails pile up to ungodly numbers?

I don’t like to have emails pile up in my inbox, so I usually clear it up right away!

What’s something you cannot go without doing every day?

I always reserve 30 minutes at the end of the day to reflect, read, and meditate.

BONUS! Favorite restaurant (or meal) in DC?

I like to order takeout from Bonchon. It tastes good and it’s consistent. It is comfort food to me.
