A Tour of Spain Wine Dinner

 Presented by José Andrés

If you live in or around the District and consider yourself a foodie you already know the name Jose Andres. If you don’t, sit back, uncork a nice bottle of wine, kick your feet up and reevaluate your entire life. José is the Bear Bryant of DC chefs and the driving force behind concepts such as: Jaleo, Oyamel, Zaytinya, Minibar and the famous Pepe food truck.

Once each year Jaleo (José’s Spanish concept) highlights a different region of Spain (José’s country of origin) by hosting a wine dinner.  This year the selected region is Galicia, a coastal region located in Northwest Spain.  Galicia’s cool, damp Atlantic-influenced climate favors the production of crisp white wines and youthful refreshing reds, perfect to enjoy on a balmy summer evening in DC.  The regions wines will be paired with a playful and creative menu conceptualized by celebrity chef Miguel Rebolledo (another native Spaniard).  I recently had an opportunity to taste some of Miguel’s cuisine and let me tell ya, it may have tax exempt status for being its own religion.  His innovative style and playful attitude consummate to produce inspiring culinary treats.

Jaleo has taken my near alcoholic love of wine and sinful glutny for good food and combined them. Very exciting!

The celebration will take place at Jaleo Crystal City on Wednsday, June 18th from 7-9 pm. This is a reservation-only event and space is limited so put your game face on and RSVP.
