Even though the government is shut down and U.S. Parks closed, that didn’t just stop a group of Honor Flight vets from gaining entrance to the WWII memorial. According to onlookers, the WWII vets pushed passed barricades and made their way into the memorial even though it was closed.

According to someone on scene: “When you proudly serve your country in war and travel hundreds of miles to visit a memorial dedicated to you and your fallen comrades, you can do whatever the hell you please – regardless of what the government tells you.”
