It’s Friday. It’s Veterans’ Day. It’s a 3-day weekend. It’s fall. I couldn’t be happier. Everything points to a perfect weekend of fun and I have just the lineup for you.

Friday

Whether you have the day off or not, it’s a must that we pay tribute to the veterans who have sacrificed so much. Grab a sweater and stroll down to the National Mall to take in the monuments that recognize Vietnam, Korea, World War I and World War II veterans. The Friday fun continues in the evening with these nighttime picks:

Lost Society Happy Hour – my buddy DJ Sung will be spinning house music with DJ Gavin taking over at 10pm. Deck will be open with heaters and drink specials abound.

DC Week Closing Party – $20 gets you access to music, food, an open bar, project showcases from the DCWEEK Community, and Interactive installations like Kinect hacks and 24 Hour City Projects.

Eric Felten Jazz Orchestra – head to the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage at 5pm for a free swing dance lesson and big band fun.

Saturday

VA Wineries – instead of being a couch potato, take a drive out to the wineries in Leesburg to enjoy the spectacular fall foliage. If you prefer a longer trip, Charlottesville is also especially beautiful this time of year.

Blondes vs. Brunetteshead out to this annual flag football game where female blondes and brunettes duke it out to raise money for Alzheimer’s. Kick-off is 1pm.

J. Edgar – the latest movie from director Clint Eastwood which stars the incredible Leonardo DiCaprio is sure to be an Oscar-nominee. Take your honey or a friend and check it out at any of DC’s cinemas.

Opera Ultra Lounge – if the club is more your speed, don’t miss Opera. With its incredible sound system and gorgeous bartenders/partygoers, you’re sure to have an epic night.

Sunday

Degas Exhibit – Sundays are great days for museum strolls so why not head over to the Phillips Collection to view Degas’s Dancers at the Barre: Point and Counterpoint. Enjoy lunch or coffee in the Phillips’ café.

18th Street Lounge – ESL plays host to this weekly party that features the best house music in the city and a happy hour that runs ‘til 11pm. This is my favorite party of the week so don’t miss it!
