Famous 5: Congressional Stalemate Eats, aka #Debtmaggedon

What would a day be like in DC that didn’t involve a Congressional stalemate? If you’re following the current #debtmaggedon debacle, as most of us wonks are, you know a weekend session is upon us as we await passage of a debt limit bill in both chambers. To break free of the constant waiting, check out one of these Hill watering holes for food, drink and even shopping. Hey, we all need amusement outside of the Hill bickering.

Eastern Market – take a stroll this weekend through the weekly market and grab lunch or random vintage find.

Good Stuff Eatery – protein is good for those long hours so pop by this yummy burger joint for some sustenance. Hey, evenSenators Kerry and Toomey got the memo.

We the Pizza – if you prefer carbs to protein, surprise your coworkers with some pizza. I promise they’ll love you for it.

Bullfeathers – newly redesigned, this long-time Hill watering hole is a favorite by all – and there is always a TV on for news updates.

Charlie Palmers – if you want to treat yourself for those long hours, head here for a steak or blue-cheese stuffed dirty martini. DC power dining at its best.
