This is the only good thing about hurricane season on the East Coast. [stock up]

Virginians who want to stock up on hurricane and other emergency supplies such as batteries, flashlights and bottled water have just a few days left to stock up tax-free.

Virginia’s seven-day tax holiday began Wednesday and continues through May 31. Other items costing $60 or less, like tarps, rope, duct tape and smoke detectors are also temporarily exempt from the 5 percent Virginia sales tax. Portable generators priced at $1,000 or less are also exempt.

Beer, not tax free.
