We’re all lucky enough to live in Washington, D.C. – the place people from all over the world call their “home away from home.”

This international DC community was on display this weekend in Dupont Circle as thousands gathered to watch the World Cup games.

FamousDC’s sports correspondent Mark emailed over a few pictures from Saturday’s festivities.

Although there were many volunteers and lots of people to thank for such a successful event, Michael Kipin and Aaron DeNu deserve special thanks for setting up the event. Also Josh Hoffman, co-founder of DealsforDeeds helped with the preparation Friday evening.

Big thanks go out to Eddie Pope for making an apperance and promoting his Foundation and also to the graphics designer, Tracie Ching

And, as always, the Screaming Eagles played a big role.

For more pictures and information check out the Flickr site, Facebook page, and their main site.

FamousDC and the beltway soccer community thanks all of the sponsors for the crucial funding and we hope to see a similar event for the Final Game on July 11, 2010.
