Yesterday, Sen. Harry Reid answered a question about Afghanistan before it was even asked of him:

"Get the answers from Tiger Woods," Reid, with his tongue firmly planted in his cheek, said even before reporters could ask him a question.

The reporter then re-approached Reid, but not before being warned by a staffer that perhaps his first answer wasn’t so smart:

"Ask Tiger, not me," Reid said as he walked away from the closed-door briefing he had just received on Afghanistan.

Moral of the story:  Pay attention to your staff. There’s a reason you pay them.
