Is today a new day for wired communications?

First, the Kennedy family set up a Twitter feed to update all news related to Senator Kennedy’s funeral. Forget press releases (that was SO 2008), it’s Twitter time.  [press releases sent out to pasture]

Secondly, reporters are now taking to Twitter feeds to seek out comments for news stories.  [warning]

Example 1.0: Ryan Grim and Karl Rove

What’s next?

Virtual press conferences via Skype or better yet, via hologram. [paging CNN]

Interns collecting reporter twitter feeds instead of email addresses?  Same w/ IM?

Maybe that’s already happening.

UPDATE: Mindy Finn thinks we’re brilliant [duh :)]
