And the winners are …

@karlrove vs. @bdayspring

WINNER: @karlrove @bdayspring

@karlrove set a record earlier for the most hashtags ever used in one tweet.  #FDC was not one of them. MAJOR UPSET: @bdayspring came out of nowhere and threw up a buzzer beater.

@SorenDayton vs. @amandacarpenter

WINNER: @SorenDayton

Even though @SorenDayton is staging alliances with his wife [@lizmair] he still had the edge in this competition.   Unfortunately for @amandacarpenter fans, she forgot her tool belt.

@JoeTrippi vs. @notlarrysabato

WINNER: @notlarrysabato

@JoeTrippi gracefully bowed out due to a scheduling conflict.  @notlarrysabato is primed and ready for round two.

@alaskan vs. @mkhammer

WINNER: @mkhammer

@alaskan did his best, but MK used her hammer do drill him like ANWR. @alaskan took an early lead in the endorsement battle, with @mindyfinn launching “Women for Matt Moon.” Unfortunately, only two women were for Matt Moon. But big ups to @aemenefee for getting on the dance floor. Other than those endorsements and a top-notch burn , this match belonged to @mkhammer . She’s the first to make a logo , which has been described as “hot.” Plus, she used “heteronormative” to refer to google’s gender-color assignments. FamousDC thanks MK for upping the average twitter sylable count, and directs both her and the good people at Google to Chapter 28 of Little Women to see the origin of pink-for-girls, blue-for-boys. One person NOT invited to the second round: MK’s brother .

@LizMair vs. @shuster1600

WINNER: @LizMair

Of course, @shuster1600 didn’t come to play. But he should have, because if he did, he would have seen this endorsement of @LizMair . Also, he would have seen the out of control pictorial burns served up by @LizMair (who also racked up a sick amount of endorsements ).

@KatieFavazza vs. @addedvalueth

WINNER: @KatieFavazza

Katie talked a big game at the beginning, but dialed down the intensity level due to a lackluster performance by @addedvaluet. That approach was enough to get her through the first round, but we’re hoping she’ll step up her A-game before the next match-up. Despite the trash talking , we got one particular email that said, "I think MKH would crush her."

@newtgingrich vs. @maddow

WINNER: @newtgingrich

No American solutions on Twitter? Fred Asbell couldn’t talk the former Speaker into Twittering one little #FDC hash tag? Here’s to hoping the Google alerts will convince Newt Gingrich to play along in round two.

@kenweaton vs. @AlbrightDC

WINNER: @AlbrightDC

@AlbrightDC moves into the 2nd round solely on the fact that she asks the tough questions . Ken must have been too busy buying up homes in home Detroit to play along.

Pictured below: Liz Mair’s high heel and part of the reason she cruised through to round two.
