We all know that DC has a lot of spirit in terms of pride and morale, but what you didn’t know is we also have a lot of spirits– you know, those ghosts that haunt our every move. Thanks to Washington Walks, we’ve learned that “The Exorcist” steps in Georgetown are just the beginning of all the spooky sites DC has to offer.

Washington Walks provides a walking tour called The Most Haunted Houses that takes participants around the seven acres of Lafayette Park– a place that is home to countless vicious arguments, violent attacks, murders, and suicides. You’d never know that the same grounds that are home to White House staff, visitors and office workers by day turns into a haunted, ghost-infested property by night.

Carolyn Crouch, founder of Washington Walks, says that while on the tour “you’ll hear haunted history that includes ghosts of presidents, first ladies and even 19th-century ghost hunters.  It’s the quintessential Washington, D.C. ghost tour!”
