The steaks have never been higher in this 2016 presidential election.  Charlie Palmer Steak‘s executive chef, Mike Ellis drew some rare inspiration from this idea by unleashing his very own Cut of the Week menu which features the regional dishes of the ten swing states.

This select menu began September 12 and will continue running until the end of the election with each week detailing one of these elusive electoral states, all the while bringing a taste of the campaign trail back home to DC. Cut of the Week is a three-course prix fixe created with seasonal ingredients and offered with bottomless wine pairings for $58. Yes, you read that right – bottomless. wine.

FamousDC caught up with Cut of the Week creator, Mike Ellis to get the inside details on the cut of the week. “Cut of the Week has been a big favorite with our regulars and its been a fun distraction from this contentious election season to create these themed menus every week,” said Ellis. “I’ve focused on regional dishes from each state, but have worked with local farms and producers to get the best early fall produce and bring a taste of DC to the table as well.”
