Snapchat released a statement yesterday saying that they will be unveiling a new feature to the prominent social media site- and no, it’s not a new pair of dog ears to attach to your selfie.

Within the coming months, snapchat will be releasing its new function “Memories,” in which users will be able to save individual snaps to be stored on the app and re-uploaded at a later date.

So basically, you can make your story anything from what town you’re visiting right now to a picture of a sunset you took three weeks ago. Wait a minute… we’ve heard of an app that let’s you upload pictures and videos of your past and present life before, what’s it called again? Instagram?? Facebook? Twitter? Hmm. I’m sure it’ll come back to us.

For all of those haters out there that are outraged that snapchat won’t be an “up to the minute” site anymore for you to share snaps only of what you are doing in the present, fear not. All snaps posted more than a day ago to your story will appear with a frame around it so all of your followers know that you are snapping a #latergram and it is not in fact snowing in the middle of July.

So stop worrying about having to put on full hair and makeup when that cute boy snapchats you while you’re in sweats and elbow-deep in a tub of chocolate chip ice cream. Just take a ton of different selfies when you’re looking your best and save them in Memories for when you actually need them.
