Best-selling author Jenny Lawson came to one of DC’s favorite coffee houses, Politics & Prose this week to speak about her new book Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things.

She read two excerpts from her book to a packed room and of course, enjoyed a good cup of coffee with them because what’s a trip to Politics & Prose without coffee?

The crowd laughed along with her as she read and she later opened the floor to the audience for a Q&A session.

Lawson is best known for writing freely about her mental illness while adding a touch of humor to it. She’s also the mastermind behind her own award-winning blog The Bloggess, and the author Let’s Pretend This Never Happened (A Mostly True Memoir).
