Washington, D.C. (October 9, 2015) — The manufacturer and outfitter, C.C. Filson Co., celebrated the company’s first DC-area brick-and-mortar location last night. The brand debuted its new 2015 Fall collection, marking the occasion by partnering with National Geographic photographer Dan Westergren for an in-store exhibit. Local figures and fans of the brand made a toast to the original Alaskan outfitter, welcoming the brand’s new 14th street location to the nation’s capital. Notable East and West Coast Washingtonians in attendance included Filson Creative Director Alex Carleton, Filson Director of Marketing Melissa Ziegler, Monumental Sports & Entertainment CEO Ted Leonsis, celebrity make up artist Carl Ray and ABC 7’s Scott Thuman among others.

“Filson has such a wonderful American legacy and has been serving its customers for over a century,” said Carleton. “We are thrilled to open in one of our nation’s most historical cities: DC.”

In 1897, C.C. Filson began outfitting prospectors headed for the Klondike Gold Rush with apparel and goods durable enough to contend with the toughest environments on earth. Today, Filson is a global manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer constantly developing new products to serve those who refuse to stay indoors. With company headquarters located above its factory in Seattle, WA, Filson remains committed to producing unfailing goods that live up to its founder’s vision.
