A hundred bucks doesn’t go far in DC these days, but your date night shouldn’t have to suffer the consequences. Here’s a list of 8 great spots around the city that give new meaning to the term “cheap date”

Date Spot #1: Daikaya Ramen

This rustic little hot spot is prime for chatting at the bar over a few great cocktails. With a variety of beers and over 100 featured whiskeys, there is a little something that fits everyone’s taste and pocket book. There is a wide range of prices that gives everyone the opportunity to drink a fantastic beverage at just the right price. Expect to spend: $25 per person.

Date Spot #3: The Potomac Tour

Grab a couple bikes from your closest Capital Bikeshare station and take an easy breezy bike ride on the Potomac waterfront. This trip has a beautiful view of some great DC monuments and crosses over the Potomac twice. Best part, it is extremely affordable at only $8 a bike for 24 hours and it definitely puts a little adventure into your date. Expect to spend: $16 for entire date.

Date Spot #4: Lincoln Memorial

Pack up your picnic basket, grab a blanket, and head over to the rear of the Lincoln Memorial. This little spot gives an incredible view of the Potomac River and the Rosslyn, VA skyline. Not every date needs to take place in a bar or restaurant and cost a fortune. A beautiful view and a bottle of wine does the trick and keeps your wallet feeling full. Expect to spend: $20 for entire wine and cheese date.

Paycheck didn’t go through yet but still want to impress your date? Head over to Eat the Rich’s happy hour. They feature $1 oysters and discounted drinks Tuesday thru Friday, 5:00 to 7:00pm. This is a great spot to make your night out epic, but won’t cost you a fortune. Expect to spend: $45 for entire date

Date Spot #6: Vino Volo

If you are both wine enthusiasts, Vino Volo is a fabulous wine bar to taste wines from around the world and share a cheese board or small dish of your choosing. Creating a sophisticated atmosphere with a wine country feel, this wine bar expands your pallet at an affordable cost. Expect to spend: $25 per person.

Date Spot #7: Key Bridge Boathouse

Throw a little adventure into your date and head out on the Potomac River for some kayaking. Rent a double kayak at the Key Bridge Boathouse for an hour at a rate of only $20. It is an absolute steal and will definitely put a smile on your significant other’s face. Expect to spend: $20 for entire date.

Date Spot #8: Nationals Game

Grab a couple of beers at The Bullpen before heading over to Nationals Park for the game with your date. This is a great way to see if your date is a true Nats fan and will definitely spark some great laughs. Game tickets are often sold for as low as $5 leaving enough cash leftover for that second beer. Expect to spend: $25 per person.
