Hello all, and welcome to the Election Day Ladies Who Lobby Voter Guide. Today is bound to be long no matter what party you support, so keep these tips in mind for a smooth and enjoyable election day.

Expect Long Lines: Much like buying groceries, getting into a bar, or using a women’s restroom, be prepared to wait in line in order to exercise your right to vote. But, no worries, here are some things to keep you occupied while you hang out in local schools, gyms and rec rooms:

Practice voting by participating in FamousDC’s “Who Really Won This Election?” poll or check out our recommendations for tonight’s election parties to plan your evening (assuming you ever get out of line).

Stereotype. One fun thing to do in line is judge. Is the portly man in front of you voting for Romney or Obama? Is the woman on your right an Ass or an Elephant? As this is DC, a safe answer to many of these questions is Obama, Eleanor Holmes Norton, Democrat, Donkey. But you never know!

Fill out your Electoral College map. Make a pretty picture and cast your 2012 predictions in stone by creating your very own ‘color by numbers’ electoral predictions. Note: copying Nate Silver’s predictions doesn’t count.

Exit Polls. If you are one of the three people out there who isn’t so totally over this election season, check out those polls! Get the scoop on the latest swing state numbers and keep an eye on exit polls!

Vote!: Hang in there guys. Brave the lines! Earn your “I Voted” sticker and cast your ballot!

But What If I’ve Already Voted?: This year we saw unprecedented number of people early voting. And we bet some of you voted ‘absentee’ in that swing state you lived in four years ago…you know who you are. But, if you have already voted and have time to kill until polls close, here are some options:

Volunteer! While the campaigns may be winding down, GOTV efforts are still going strong. So, if like us, if your office is at a standstill until the election is decided use your time to make sure people get to the polls.

Twitter: Keep an eye on the Twitterverse for the latest news, polls and guffaws.

Caffeinate: On the East Coast it will be 11pm before polls close on the West Coast. Personally, we are jealous for all the West Coasters who may actually be able to go to bed at a normal hour instead of waiting up for polls to close across the country.

Watch the Returns: Find a party, gather with likeminded friends, have a bipartisan bash…Or, follow the Ladies Who Lobby’s example and barricade yourself in your home with some hard liquor and CNN/MSNBC/Comedy Central and don’t talk to anyone until it’s over. Because, let’s be real, no one needs to see us in this state.

So enjoy your Presidential Election Day, because they only come every four years; although, campaign ads for Midterms 2014 will start about four days from now.
