Meet Becca Clara Love & Cori Sue Morris. Better known as the Bitches Who Brunch.

“Becca and Cori Sue are brunching their way around Washington, D.C….” was all it said in March of 2010 at the inception. More than 200 brunches later, Bitches Who Brunch has become the website Washingtonians turn to when they want to know where to brunch—or what to wear and where to party.

The Bitches provide their readers with fresh content every week day, starting with Monday’s This Week events calendar and continuing with District Divas event and party recaps, Lust List fashion posts, and Bitchtastic Brunch reviews throughout the week.

Bitches Who Brunch has become a staple for selecting the perfect brunch spot for a Sunday whether it be hungover with friends or out with your parents and with a new design around the corner FamousDC is looking forward to even more bitchtastic things from Becca Clara & Cori Sue.

1. What has been one of the more surprising outcomes of starting this blog? Did you ever expect it to become so popular?

We started it so we would have an outlet for writing (we’re both trained journalists but have since moved on to new careers)—and we never expected it to take off like it has. Bitches took a life of its own; and it’s taken us both on a tremendous ride so far. One of the most surprising outcomes is how engaged readers are. It’s slightly frightening to see a restaurant completely overrun on a Sunday because we gave it a good brunch rating that week.

2. How has the blog evolved since your first post?

Our first post was about brunch with friends—the stories that come out from the night before, and the funny things that happen when you’re hungover and being silly, plus the atmosphere and the food of the place. Every brunch has a story. That basic formula hasn’t changed much. What has changed is that we’ve invested in the photography and we spend a lot more time writing and editing. We’ve also seriously ventured into fashion and local events—we’re Bitches who love fashion, love a good cocktail party, and love a good brunch—it’s become a lifestyle.

The biggest evolution of all, however, will come next week when we launch our new design. So our once-little-blog will be a full-blown website. It will be searchable, with drop-downs for brunch location, type, price range and the like—mostly to save us from the hundreds of e-mails we receive asking for recommendations. The esthetic, food porn, snarky stories and sass will stay the same, however. The Bitchiness is certainly here to stay.

3. What do you love most about the District?

It’s not too big, it’s not too small, and it’s very pretty. No, seriously. D.C. is perfect: growing, evolving, but not overwhelming. Our food scene is innovative and never boring. There’s a lot fun to be had. The people are friendly. All this, and in such a gorgeous, picturesque city.

4. If Michelle called for a brunch date, where would you take her?

If Mrs. Obama wanted to be a Bitch, we’d take into account her frequent brunches at Eatonville and other local Southern restaurants, and realize she loves a good Southern brunch. We’d probably suggest Art & Soul, Ben’s Next Door, or the jazz brunch at Georgia Browns. But it’s often more fun if we let our guests suggest the brunch spot. Where shall we go, Mrs. O?

5. Is it just the two of you reviewing each brunch or do you frequently have guest contributors? Are you seeking any brunch guests (hint, hint…)

Ha! Yes, we have Guest Bitches occasionally; friends of ours who were with us for the brunch and simply had to write about it (or are covering for our hungover or over-worked behinds). We also have an amazing Baby Bitch, Amanda Jean, who is a frequent guest contributor. We’re so fortunate to have the support that we do.
