It’s the weekend again, if you can believe it, and I’m planning a weekend in the bed to get better from a bout of strep throat, ugh. But that doesn’t mean you have too. So, DC party people, represent and get out there and throw down for me! Here’s your weekend lineup!

Thursday

Get Lucky– DC favorite Lucky Dub is headlining the party at the Montserrat House; tickets are $25 and include an open bar from 8:30-9:30. Enjoy!

Friday

American Craft Beer Week – the week ends Sunday but you can participate in some fun tonight at Smith Commons with Flying Dog beers and music by DJ Cuzzin B, a founder of the hip-hop night Tru Skool.

Beth Orton – catch this U.K. chanteuse, who made a name for herself in the ’90s with an indie-electronic music hybrid, at U Street Music Hall. 7pm and $25.

Black Keys – head up to Columbia, MD to see the Keys perform at Merriweather. Arctic Monkeys open. 6:30pm.

Saturday

Preakness – it may not be as fashionable or polished as the Kentucky Derby or Gold Cup, but the Preakness is just as fun. Book a ticket and head to MD to catch your favorite horse run in this annual race.

Capitol Skyline Hotel Pool Party – head to this bi-monthly pool party that boasts 20 food trucks, multiple DJs, poolside bars and entertainers. The Rock & Roll Hotel, Sticky Rice and Dangerously Delicious Pies play host.

Sunday

Argonaunt – I always love having brunch at this H Street spot that boasts $9 mimosas and a yummy menu. Plus, it’s hip. Promise me, you won’t be disappointed.

Lady Antebellum – this country group (whom I adore) will be performing at Merriweather with Darius Rucker and Thompson Square. 5:30pm.
