I am still in shock that it is *already* the middle of April. Spring is in full swing and its opening week for the Nats! So, get out there and enjoy all that DC has to offer. I hear it is going to be 84 degrees on Sunday. Lovely.

Thursday

National GrilledCheese Sandwich Day – who doesn’t love grilled cheese?! And, now we do not have to feel guilty for our indulgences. Hop over to some of my faves – the grilled pimento cheese sandwich at Bayou Bakery or the “super” grilled cheese at Stoney’s – and enjoy! The WaPo also offers their best bets.

Friday

Boundary Stone – if you are looking for a hot Friday the 13th happy hour, head to this Bloomingdale bar for a shot of Catoctin Creek Distilling Company Roundstone Rye, a can of DC Brau Brewing Company Public Pale Ale and an order of their award winning wings all for $13 from 4pm-8pm. Sounds like a winner to me.

Musicband, Lexington,Arrows, Divided Heaven, Chach – head to Ras Hall for this Friday 13th party with these punk/garage bands. If you see my buddy Patrick Crean, tell him I sent you!

18thStreet Lounge – ESL and ESL Music are hosting a grand opening kickoff of ESL Radio with parties all weekend. Friday night features Thunderball vs Afrolicious at 9pm at the Montserrat House.

Saturday

Nationals – if you missed opening day on Thursday, head to the park for the 4pm game against the Reds. What is better than cold beers on a Sunday day at Nats Stadium?!

Lumen8Anacostia – check out this arts festival and dance party in Anacostia from 12 pm to 12 am. Also, Anacostia’s only radio station and studio, We Act Radio, is having a special Open House to mark the occasion. From 12-3 pm the Open House will overlap with the live radio show Take Action News hosted by Emmy-award winning TV & radio journalist David Shuster.

The Champagne Campaign Saturday Brunch Party – if you are looking for an extravagant and fabulous brunch, head to the Lost Society rooftop from 1pm-6pm for this $40 all-you-can-eat brunch buffet featuring bottomless mimosas. There are two seating times at 1pm and at 3pm and reservations are required – no walkups! Call/text 703-472-3407 to make your rezzie.

18th Street Lounge – the main event for the ESL Radio kickoff features Eric Hilton of Thievery Corporation and DJ Thomas Blondet in the main room, and DJs Farid and Will Eastman in the Gold Room. This party is gonna be hot!

Sunday

DC Brau’s 1-YearAnniversary – it has been a year since Meridian Pint released DC Brau, the first production brewery in the nation’s capital in over 50 years. To commemorate that historic day the bar will be pouring 16 DC Brau drafts and 4 casks for $5.
