Happy weekend folks! Here’s my lineup for all your weekend fun. Enjoy!

Thursday

Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe with Anders Osbourne – so sad I will not be making this show due to yet again back injury annoyances, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss it. Grab your tickets now and get to the State Theater tonight for this show. It’s going to be amazing!

Sex, Politics, & Social Media EventSocial Media Week DC starts on February 13th but this kickoff event is a do-not miss. Grab your tickets here.

Trevor Martin & Sharkey – if my buddy Sharkey says this party at the very cool Blackbyrd will be pure listening pleasure, then it will be.

Friday

1905 Restaurant – having recently enjoyed a lovely meal and cocktails with some friends at this New Orleans speakeasy-style bar, I can say it is a do-not miss. I almost hate to pimp it out! Take a friend or loved one and grab some dinner before walking over to Dickson Wine Bar for a nightcap. It’s great fun.

Cities – head to this midtown resto-lounge for my friend’s, party promoter extraordinaire Dawoud and long-time DJ resident, Seyhan’s birthdays! The party theme will be the “Golden Boys of the D-Cities” so be sure to dress in black and gold.

La Cage aux Folles – if you’re in the mood for theater, grab some of the remaining tickets to this 7:30pm show at the Kennedy Center. Winner of three Tony Awards, Entertainment Weekly calls it “hilarious and deeply moving!”

Saturday

Cupid’s Undie Run – if you missed the entry for this annual race to support the Children’s Tumor Foundation, grab some morning coffee and head to the Pour House for pre-and post-race fun. At the very least, watching a few hundred of your DC friends run around in their undies sounds brillz to me.

Dumpstaphunk – as a massive New Orleans Jazz Fest fan (went last year for the first time and will now go every year, mark my words), there is nowhere else I’d rather be Saturday night than The Hamilton for this show. If you are wise, you too will grab a ticket.

Bottom Line Valentine’s Day Bash – yes, it’s a little early for V-day but this won’t be your typical V-day party. Billed as “Share Your Ex and Find Your Next,” this event requests attendees to bring in old photo’s, cards, and notes from your ex and put them through a SHREDDER! Yep, time to cleanse the soul now. Shredding starts at 8pm and specials include $2.50 Miller Lite bottles, $5.00 Pucker Vodka drinks, $3.00 V-Day Shooters, and $5.50 Jager Bombs.

Sunday

The Red Palace – this H Street gem hosts three bands that will be sure to entertain you will all the gloomy rock you need on a Sunday night. Hey, just two days before V-day, this is the perfect spot to take that friend who’s #overit with their significant other.

The DC Record Fair – could there be a better event for vinyl junkies? Forty dealers selling LPs will be on hand so prepare yourself for crate digging while you enjoy DJs spinning throughout the day.

Guil-Tea – Nellie’s Sports Bar plays host to this afternoon party (3-8pm) on their heated roof. Be sure to dress to impress – the Winter Werq Walk Off will allow anyone wearing a winter-themed outfit to strut on the catwalk in the hopes of winning prizes. Bonus: it’s free.

Dubfire – special secret show of this 1/2 part of DC-natives Deep Dish will be at Patty Patty Boom Boom. Take it from me, you don’t want to miss this! Dubfire, aka Ali Shirazinia, travels the world and when he comes home to DC, his gigs are insane! 10pm.

Monday

Sax – are you in the mood for Burlesque? I know, you’re probably thinking on a Monday? Why yes – this sultry venue features Burlesque Mondays with all the burlesque you can take and a three-course Prix Fixe dinner for $39. Why not?

Tuesday

Happy Valentine’s Day! Here’s my restaurant picks for your dining pleasure.
