When the words Crystal City are uttered, the response is rarely a jump for party-going joy.  On Friday night, I learned this will no longer be the case with the opening of the resto-lounge, Melody Tavern, located on the ground level of The Eclipse on Center Park Condominiums.  The 6,700 square-foot live-music venue and restaurant offers American cuisine in a 148-seat dining area that provides an intimate and relaxing atmosphere, as well as state-of-the-art HDTVs for viewing sporting events. With a serious jazz lineup including the alluring Broadway “Dreamgirls” vocalist Julia Nixon and DC-based soulful jazz crooner Lena Seikaly, I am certain the venue will become a destination for many seeking a sultry night on the town.

Also present Friday night were notable DC public relations professionals, bloggers, industry insiders and local VIPs including DCEventJunkie’s Lisa Byrne, Pivot Point Communications’ Vanessa French, ABC-7 anchor Leon Harris, Eden Lounge co-owner Vinoda Basnayake, Josephine co-owner Alain Kalantar and Tony Hudgins of THC, Inc. FamousDC certainly appreciated the invite, and offers kudos to restaurateurs Michel Daley and Jordan Cappolla who were gracious hosts.

If you find yourself in the Crystal City area, definitely stop by Melody Tavern for a night of jazz and delectable entrees. I can promise you will have a good time.
