Let’s Get Ready to Rumble!
Because I love Famous readers so much, I present you with the *Golden Ticket* to Super Bowl XLVI viewing parties in DC. While you’re all watching the Giants and Patriots duke it out with anticipation, I will be waiting anxiously for Madonna’s half-time performance. Hey, we all have our thing. 51st State Tavern – this is a New York sports team bar for sure and they’ll be opening the doors at 4pm for the Super Bowl with shooters, drinks and food deals. Definitely head here if you’re a Giants fan!
Arlington Draft House – watch the game on a big screen with regular table side service, a full restaurant menu and bar service. Free Admission.
Bar Dupont – here’s to hoping the weather is nice on Sunday because this bar in the Dupont Circle Hotel will have an over-sized grill on the patio and 70-inch TVs on the deck. I’ve heard beer trucks will be parked out front (I kid you not) and the grilling menu will include all the football viewing basics. Doors open at noon so go early to secure your spot!
Black Finn – this bar will be offering $3 Bud Lights and Coors Light Bullets, $5 Crown Royal, and BEER TOWERS – $22 Miller Light, Coors Light, $22 Blue Moon! Reservations will be taken until 3pm and afterwards tables are first come, first serve. *Head to the MD location if that works better!
Blue Banana – if Columbia Heights is your party spot, head to this fun bar for $12 Yuengling and Miller Lite pitchers and other $15 pitchers, in addition to specialty cocktail discounts. The regular food menu will be bolstered by the PORC Mobile food truck, offering sloppy joes, mac and cheese, and other barbecue and tailgating favorites.
Buffalo Billiards – head to this larger than life bar to catch the game on one of four ten-foot projection screens or 40 flat screen televisions. The bar features 14,000 square feet of fun with seven dart boards, 18 pool tables, video arcade games, and tons of party favors – three large full-service bars, 14 beers on tap, and daily food and drink specials. Need we say more?
Cafe Saint-Ex – to honor the two teams in the game, this bar will be offering game-time beer specials and bringing in beers from each of the teams’ hometowns: Samuel Adams Boston Lager from New England and Brooklyn Lager from New York. Football fans can enjoy $15 pitchers and $4 pints from 5 p.m. on, with early game-watchers scoring free beer glasses from each of the breweries.
Capitol City Brewing Company – head to this popular brewery in DC OR Shirlington from 4pm-close for wing platters and any of their specially brewed beers.
Capitol Lounge – don your Patriots gear and head to this Capitol Hill bar (House side) to enjoy FREE Sam Adams drafts and clam cakes from 5:30PM-kickoff. The Patriot menu that’s offered throughout the season wlil be available during the game with $3 Bud Lights all night.
Crystal City Sports Pub – this is my favorite place to watch my beloved Heels play so why not take a journey to this multi-level bar and enjoy their pregame appetizers and half-time dinner buffet offerings for $35. Trust me, it’s a good time.
Hudson – head to this West End restaurant for its annual Super Bowl Owner’s Suite Party. Brunch will be served until 4pm so head there before the game, or wait until 4:30pm when the party starts with a reduced price bar featuring $5 Select Premium alcohol until game time. $6 Happy Hour price thereafter, and each hour will feature one of Hudson’s new specialty cocktails.
Jack Rose – this bar doesn’t have TV’s in its main bar but there are four on the retractable roof deck. The whiskey bar will be hosting the Super Chili Bowl on Super Bowl Sunday – a cook-off that promises five all-you-can-eat chilis and unlimited beers from 5:30pm-11pm. Space is limited, so buy your tickets in advance.
L2 Lounge – this Georgetown hotspot promises a sky box style Super Bowl party with featured cocktails and plenty of football-worthy food. Game will be televised on multiple big screen projectors with surround sound throughout the Lounge. Doors open at 5:30pm and there will be no cover.
Mighty Pint – this Dupont bar will be offering all drafts, including Guinness, for $3, and pitchers of Yuengling or Miller Lite for $11. Food specials include half-price cheesesteaks, 18-inch cheese pizzas and $9 wing baskets with fries or tots.
Murphy’s Irish Pub – I love a bar that opens early and this Alexandria pub will be opening its doors at 10am. Get there before brunch ends if you are a Patriots fan or else you will not get a seat. This venue and its sister bar in DC are THE Patriots viewing spots of the Mid-Atlantic region.
Nellie’s Sports Bar – the Super Bowl party at this U Street (awesome) dive includes $4 rail drinks, $4 Nellie Draft Beer, $4 Zing Zang Bloody Marys, $15 buckets of Budweiser, Bud Light, and a full food menu priced under $8.
Redline – this Chinatown bar will be offering several specials throughout the day. Haven’t been before? Reserve one of the booths so you have easy access to your personal keg.
Stetson’s – this neighborhood bar on U Street recently installed a new HD projection screen in the downstairs bar to accompany the three HD screens upstairs so you should be able to get that perfect close-up of Tom Brady and all his glory. Sorry guys, but we girls need something to look at too.
Union Pub – this Capitol Hill (Senate side) bar will be offering $6 bottomless mimosas and bloody mary’s during brunch (10am-4pm): $1 drafts from 5:30pm-kickoff); and $12 bud and bud light buckets, $3.50 rail drinks, $20 team-theme craft buckets, and $3 team shooters from kickoff-til end of game. I mean, must I encourage you to go early and stay all day?! #bananas
Ventnor Sports Café – a bar that is targeted to New York and Boston fans alike will enjoy watching the game here with other Giants and Pats fans.
