On February4, Luke’s Wings will host Fashion Takes Flight, a swank and high energy fashion show as the kickoff event to the 2012 campaign.  This year, the show will be held at one of the most unique venues in Washington, D.C. – the Stars and Stripes Club of Nationals Park.  Fashion Takes Flight draws fashionistas and philanthropists alike, all with the goal of giving back to the men and women of our military.

This year, Fashion Takes Flight will feature designs by Walish Gooshe, Streets of Georgetown, Nam Nguyen, Donovan England and Ella Rue.  While the majority of our models are represented by T.H.E. Agency, one of the unique aspects of the show is a few models are military members assigned to the area.  Keeping the show going will be DJ Neekola, of international acclaim, with Let’s Talk Live’s Natasha Barrett serving as the emcee for the evening.  Fashion Takes Flight always showcases amazing talent and creativity; this year will be no different!

Guests will be treated to gourmet passed hors d’oeuvres, multiple premium open bars featuring specialty cocktails from Van Gogh Vodka and Peroni beer, and a photobooth to capture the magic of the evening.  VIP guests will have access to heated balconies overlooking the baseball field, and Nationals Park will provide “insider tours” to all guests.  Following the show, all guests are invited to continue their All American Night by attending an after party at Lincoln Restaurant in the heart of downtown D.C.

Luke’s Wings is an organization that assists in supporting military service members who have been wounded in battle.  In recognizing the immediate need for families to be with their loved ones at such a difficult time, Luke’s Wings provides families with the means to visit during the service member’s hospitalization and rehabilitation.  By purchasing travel agency services and travel tickets for loved ones, Luke’s Wings provides an immediate and invaluable service to the families of our men and women at arms while also helping to encourage and motivate the service member’s recovery.  For more information about Luke’s Wings, please visitwww.lukeswings.org.
