The debt limit isn’t the only game in Washington this week.

For 50 years, Democratic and Republican Members of Congress have set aside their gavels and blackberries to slug out their differences in a more traditional manner–on the baseball field.

This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the Roll Call Congressional Baseball Game. The first pitch goes out Thursday at 7:05PM at Nats Park. FamousDC plans to be there and so should you.

The Democrats under Manager Mike Doyle are going for a third straight victory in a bid to win a series trophy for the first time in 20 years, but Republicans led by Manager Joe Barton hope their new recruits from November’s elections will lead them to another smashing win.

All proceeds of the game benefit the Boys and Girls charities of America and the Washington Literacy Council.

Tickets are $10 and are available online here or at the stadium on game night. Come out for a night of heavy hitters and real political hardball.
