If we ever doubted the creativity of DC Twits, we promise to never make that mistake again.  The FamousDC Twitter Challenge has been outstanding thus far.  In some cases, the competition is so close, it looks as if we’ll have to break out the polls early – and let the fans decide.

Below updates as to where the competition currently stands.  Remember, the challenge ends at 4pm today.

@almacy vs. @acarvin

There has been a few friendly exchanges between these two, but this competition is clearly not as fierce as the others.  Does that mean both are already preparing for the second round? As is stands now Almacy has a slight lead.

@briandevine vs. @robertbluey

This battle started off with a huge Jeremiah Wright endorsement for Brian Devine, and picked up steam when Bluey finally got time to join in on the fun.  Devine, who has clearly held no punches, even joked that Bluey was too busy wearing his "snuggie" to participate. Devine definitely has the lead when it comes to #FDC hashtags and his coalition of support is growing.  Will @notlarrysabato’s endorsement of Devine help put him over the top?  Or will Bluey come out punching today?

It looks like this one might have to go to a vote.  It’s just too close.

@katieharbath
vs. @humanfolly

This battle is one of our favorites.  It’s the ultimate show down that has gone from smack talk about ass-slapping to talk of leaving no orgasm behind in San Francisco – and now, a match up turned from a tweet off to a drink off.

Both ladies have huge coalitions and are counting on their supporters to push them over the edge.  It’s likely that the winner of this round will have built up enough support to guide them several rounds through the competition.

But, it also looks like this sucker is going to a vote as well.  Stay tuned.

PS: Both gals get big points for blogging about the FamousDC Twitter Challenge.

@matthewgagnon vs. @dcconcierge

Matthew is straight bringing the noise.  He’s like the Howard Stern of social media, but can do it with less "characters." Right now it seems as if our good friend DC concierge is struggling to keep up. Not only does Matt have a huge following, but tweets like this might keep him in this tourney for quite some time:

matthewgagnon : Wife threw sons latest ass bomb diaper in the kitchen trash & forgot to take it out..Its suffocating us but we’re too lazy to deal w/it #FDC

@ontheredline vs. @newmediajim

It seems as if this match never really left the station.  Perhaps the redline hits the tracks today.

@lizglover vs. @agfhome

Glover is in it to win it, but @agfhome is also bringing the noise.  He’s even tried to pull together an alliance like Highlander and claims "he pwns the pwntomac ."  Like the rest of some competitors, agfhome has asked for NMS help and showed us some hard core Boehner . Will Glover’s live tweets from dinner with old people prove to be enough?

@mikeallen vs. @mikemadden

Madden brought the noise early, but seems to think he’s a big underdog to Mike Allen. The good news for Madden, Allen is radio silent.  We’ve got $100 says he drops ZERO #FDC tags.  Madden promises to bring the noise today.  The clock is ticking.  And we smell an upset.

@GlennThrush vs. @patrickruffini

Ruffini, the Republican Godfather of social media, made an early statement by laying a crush on the Thrush . We knew he was an innovator, but we had no idea he’d break out the crowd sourcing in the first round.  Will he cruise to the second round?
