There seems to be some big elephants in the room, and it’s not Chris Christie, Rush Limbaugh or the fact that the GOP doesn’t like their own presidential nominee.

The 2016 Republican National Convention will be held from July 18-21 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. At the convention, delegates from the GOP will choose the party’s nominee for President and Vice President of the United States.

So in more important news: Republicans have just 168 hours to get their sh*t together and stop this guy from actually becoming a presidential nominee:

The convention will be chaired by Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan and notable speakers include Ted Cruz, Joni Ernst, Newt Gingrich, Scott Walker, Bob Knight, Ben Carson, Armstrong Williams, Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump, Melania Trump, and The Donald himself.

But the more interesting GOP guest list is those prominent Republicans who have chosen not to attend the convention.

Now we know what you’re thinking… free food, open bar, a ton of media coverage, and an extended period of time dedicated to making just one decision sounds like every politicians dream. What Republican in their right mind would miss this event, and on purpose no less? Well, that would be Ohio’s own Governor John Kasich, the GOP’s last presidential nominee Mitt Romney, and former Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush.

These VIR’s (very important Republicans) may have checked “no” on their RSVP card, but FamousDC is set to attend and we asked for the chicken AND the fish.

With so much uncertainty leading up to this convention, the one thing we can guarantee is that you will not want to miss this event. So follow us on our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat pages for live updates at the RNC.
