Street Sense Media is celebrating their 16 Year anniversary with a special event called Together We Rise, a celebration of their community, the art they create, and future vision without homelessness. The night will include live performances, a silent auction, and a presentation of awards to founder and Executive Director of Sasha Bruce Youthwork, Deborah Shore, and Street Sense pro bono legal partner, Arent Fox LLP.

Street Sense Media is widely recognized in the DC area as a leading proponent empowering people experience homelesses with the tools and confidence to succeed. The organization “creates content in print, film, theater, photography, audio, illustration and more, all for the purpose of providing economic opportunity for and elevating the voices of people experiencing homelessness. The content of our media center aims to challenge perceptions of homelessness and those it affects while creating common ground upon which we can build a stronger community.”

The event on Wednesday October 2nd at The Church of the Epiphany will also include a VIP reception before the main event that will feature Still Standing author Gerald Anderson and award winning photographer Chris Earnshaw. Tickets include access to an open bar. Food and artwork will be available for purchase.
